What is the Saint Andrew Christmas Novena?
St. Andrew Christmas NovenaThe Saint Andrew Christmas Novena prayer, also known simply as the Christmas Novena, gets its name from the prayer beginning on the feast of Saint Andrew (November 30) and concluding on Christmas. It is believed to be over 100 years old, and is traditionally prayed 15 times every day, though not necessarily all at once. It may be broken up to be prayed throughout the day, such as five prayers in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
It is a simple and beautiful Advent prayer of preparation and petition by opening our hearts to both seek and to receive the Christ Child, and the salvation He brings on that cold, silent night, while asking God, with humble confidence, to grant our deepest longings. The prayer itself is directed toward God (not Saint Andrew) and zeros in on that sacred moment when Christ, through His Blessed Mother, entered human history, and we were forever changed. The Word became Flesh and dwelt among us! During the ever increasing noise and distractions of the Advent season, let this prayer help keep our minds and hearts fixed on Jesus, so as to be more ready to receive Him on Christmas Day, and when He comes again. Saint Andrew Christmas Novena Prayer Beads Bracelet 8mm Czech Fire-Polished Rosebud Violet -3 Sections
Sold out
8mm Czech Fire-Polished Rosebud Bead Bracelet with Madonna and Child Sterling Silver Medal.
~ NEW ~ Violet Color for 2024!
After a long wait, because these beads have been discontinued, I worked with the distributor who got the factory in the Czech Republic to create a brand-new batch just for me and you! The color is a touch warmer violet than the original (as seen in the original images) and is a little more transparent, so more of the violet actually shines through when it catches the light. (Be mindful that computer monitors can vary in color and brightness.)
These unique violet Czech fire-polished rosebud beads are perfect for Advent and are divided into three sections of 5 beads (convenient for those who like to break up the novena prayers said every day, one set for morning, noon, and night).
The rosebud is symbolic both for Our Lady of Guadalupe's feast on Dec 12th (for the miraculous roses she gave Juan Diego) and for the beautiful Advent hymn "Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming." Madonna and Child Medal is solid sterling silver perfect for meditating on the image of Our Lady holding the Infant Jesus "at midnight" in the "piercing cold."
Bracelet is strung on a stretch chord, (knot is glued and hidden in bail for extra security).
Size is approximately 6 1/2" in diameter.
Each bracelet comes sealed in a zip lock bag with an anti-tarnish tab.
Free gift: Beautiful prayer card and violet drawstring pouch for easy storing (and finding) for next year!
Bonus: Mini Sunshine Polishing Cloth for brightening your silver medal each year!
Hand strung in USA
